SFVFD Recognized by State Fire Commisioner at 50% level

South Fayette VFD firefighters have been working hard at training and getting our firefighters certified to national professional qualification standards. We are proud to announce that our department is now recognized by the state fire commissioner in reaching %50 of our active members having Firefighter-I, Firefighter-II and other various professional qualifications. The recognition is through the “Participating Department”. Participating Department is a program that Commonwealth emergency responders have an opportunity to participate in and be recognized as a certified fire professional at various levels in accordance with nationally recognized and sanctioned Professional Qualification standards. The purpose is to recognize those organizations that support, promote, and encourage their emergency response personnel to voluntarily certify within the Commonwealth’s Certification Program administered by the Office of the State Fire Commissioner. Great work by all who helped us achieve this recognition.
